Application
L-Arginine is a non-essential amino acid. It is used as a cell culture media component for the commercial biomanufacture of therapeutic recombinant proteins and monoclonal antibodies.
Biochem/physiol Actions
Substrate of nitric oxide synthase, which is converted to citrulline and nitric oxide (NO). Induces insulin release by a nitric oxide-dependent mechanism.
