Gene Information

human ... TUBB3(10381)

General description

Tubulin β-III (TUBB3) is a constituent of microtubules. It is expressed in mature neurons. It is located on human chromosome 16q24.

Anti-Tubulin β Antibody detects endogenous levels of total Tubulin β protein.

Immunogen

The antiserum was produced against synthesized peptide derived from human Tubulin beta.

Immunogen Range: 401-450

Application

Anti-Tubulin β C-Terminal antibody has been used in immunoblot assays.
Applications in which this antibody has been used successfully, and the associated peer-reviewed papers, are given below.

Biochem/physiol Actions

Upregulation of tubulin β-III (TUBB3) shows vigorous tumor characteristics and genetic instability in urinary bladder cancer. It participates in the separation of chromosome. Individuals with congenital fibrosis of the extraocular muscle type 3 (CFEOM3) show mutations in TUBB3. βIII-tubulin modulates glucose metabolism, thereby transforms glucose starvation stress signaling to develop the multiplication of cell and survival in non-small cell lung cancer cells.
