生物化学的／生理学的作用
IFNG（インターフェロンγ）は、Th（Tヘルパー細胞）-1リンパ球、CD8細胞傷害性リンパ球、ナチュラルキラー（NK）細胞およびナチュラルキラーT（NKT）細胞によって産生されるタイプ2のインターフェロンです。IFNGは自然免疫応答および適応免疫応答で重要な役割を演じ、そして細菌感染、二形性イーストおよびいくつかのウイルス感染に対する防御に有用です。IFNGの高い発現は、漸進性ループスエリテマトーデス、シェーグレン症候群、炎症性腸疾患および多発性硬化症のような多くの自己免疫疾患でよく見られます。
