PX 12 は、細胞生存率への効果を調べる目的で前立腺癌細胞株のチオレドキシン1阻害剤として使用されています。 H2228細胞の治療を目的とした低酸素誘導因子（HIF）-1α 阻害剤としても使用されています。
生物化学的／生理学的作用
PX 12は、チオレドキシン阻害剤です。
PX-12は、チオレドキシン酸化還元系とHIF-1a活性を阻害します。PX 12は、低酸素に誘導されるHIF-1a転写活性(IC50 11 nM)と、HT29およびMCF-7腫瘍細胞の増殖(それぞれIC50 1.9、0.9 uM)を阻害します。
