General description

N,N′-Methylenebisacrylamide solution is a cross-linking agent used in polyacrylamide gel preparation.

Application

N,N′-Methylenebisacrylamide solution has been used as a component of hydrogel precursor solution and magnified analysis of the proteome (MAP) gel solution during hydrogel fabrication. It has also been used as a component of re-embedding solution during re-embedding of expanded hydrogels.
To be mixed with acrylamide for making polyacrylamide gels for use in protein and nucleic acid electrophoresis.

Preparation Note

Prepared from electrophoresis grade bis-acrylamide in ultra-pure water.
