General description

Gel filtration markers kit contains five vials of proteins and 1 vial of blue dextran for calibration.

Gel filtration markers are used in protein chromatography and gel filtration chromatography. Gel filtration markers have been used to study glucocorticoid-induced lymphocytolysis as a model system for apoptosis within the immune system. Gel filtration markers have also been used to isolate Polygonatum odoratum lectin, which showed remarkable anti-HSV-II activity towards Vero cells, cytotoxicity towards human melanoma A375 cells and induced apoptosis in a caspase-dependent manner.

Among the thioredoxin reductase-type ferredoxin-NAD(P)+ oxidoreductase (FNR) family, FNR from photosynthetic purple non‑sulfur bacterium Rhodopseudomonas palustris (RpFNR) is distinctive because the predicted residue on the re-face of the isoalloxazine ring portion of the FAD prosthetic group is a tyrosine. The core oligosaccharide component of the lipopolysaccharide can be subdivided into inner and outer core regions. In Escherichia coli, the inner core consists of two 3-deoxy-d-manno-octulosonic acid and three glycero-manno-heptose residues.
