ローダミンBは、チオールに反応する光安定性蛍光色素です。ローダミンBイソチオシアネートはアミノキサンテンであり、カルボン酸とイソチオシアン酸の置換基をペンダントフェニル環に持ちます。
アプリケーション
ロ-ダミンBイソチオシアネ-トをラベルしたデキストランは動物での潅流実験での使用が可能です。
ローダミンBイソチオシアネート（NE）標識デキストランは、エンドサイトーシス活性の研究や標識細胞の遊走の検出のための蛍光プローブとしてよく使用されます。また、動物における灌流検査にも適しています。ローダミンBイソチオシアネート–デキストランは、in vivoゼブラフィッシュ血液脳関門（BBB）色素拡散アッセイに使用されています。
生物化学的／生理学的作用
ローダミンBは、組織を赤色～紫色に染色し、鮮やかな赤色で蛍光発光します。昆虫のマーキングによく用いられます。
