ウシ血清（BS）は、胎児ウシ血清（FBS）よりも費用対効果が高いと考えられています。長期間安定して保存することもできます。
アプリケーション
成ウシ血清は以下の用途に使用されています：
- シリコーンスクエアを処理して、in vitroでのバイオフィルム増殖条件のバイオフィルムアッセイ用に調製
- ′細胞培養において関節軟骨および近位中手骨を消化するためのダルベッコ改変イーグル培地中の成分
- 流体力学的解析における潤滑液、また滑膜関節の模倣
生物化学的／生理学的作用
成ウシ血清（BS）はHelicobacter pyloriに対して殺菌活性を有します。熱処理したBSは、H. pylori培地の最良の血清源として用いることができます。
