A zwitterionic N-substituted aminosulfonic acid buffer. HEPES has its maximum buffering capacity very near the pH of mammalian tissue fluids (pKa of 7.31 at 37°C). Exhibits no metal binding and has a small temperature dependent ΔpKa of -0.014/°C.
A zwitterionic N-substituted aminosulfonic acid buffer. Useful in the pH 6.8-8.2 range. Has a pKa of 7.48 at 25°C.
Absorbance (1.0 M, H2O, 260 nm):≤0.05.

Absorbance (1.0 M, H2O, 280 nm): ≤0.04
